Trotters register exciting net wins

The Plains Trotters scored two exciting volleyball wins last week, defeating Troy 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 28-26 in Troy Sept. 29 and downing Stillwater Christian 25-22, 22-25, 19-25, 25-22, 18-16 in Kalispell Friday.

Coach Kim Lakko and her Trotters have two District 7B conference matches on tap this week, with Mission in Plains Thursday and at Eureka Saturday. “We are looking forward to it,” she said of this week’s coming matches. “It makes it even more fun with it being homecoming week.”

Plains’ homecoming week will be capped by the Trotters’ match with Eureka, after the football team hosts Superior Friday.

Lakko liked what she saw from both teams in Troy. “Troy is scrappy as heck and has some great fire power in their serving,” she said. “It was a fun night of volleyball chock full of awesome rallies on both sides of the court.”

Aubree Butcher led the Trotters in Troy with 15 kills, 12 digs and five service aces, Hadyn Rice hit 12 kills, Mila Rivinius four blocks, Claire Lakko 42 set assists, 14 digs and four blocks, Bri Kulawinski 12 digs and Taryn Meredith four aces. and

In the five-set thriller in Kalispell Saturday, Rice and Butcher hit 15 kills apiece, Kulawinski 11 and Claire Lakko nine, Rice hit four aces and Kulawinski three, Lakko 14 digs and Rice 11, Rivinius recorded four blocks and Kulawinski and Butcher three each, Lakko hit 44 set assists and Jaycee Carr two.
