Enrollment open for 'Annie' at Cd’A Summer Theatre

Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Broadway musical “Annie” in its summer 2027 program. Enrollment is now open for a nine-week Annie Audition Intensive for girls ages 8-14, offered through Cd’A Summer Theatre’s Musical Theatre Training Institute. Enrollment closes Oct. 12, and classes will be held from the week of Oct. 12 through the week of Dec. 14.
Enrollment in the Annie Audition Intensive guarantees an audition slot and advancement to the second round of auditions for Cd’A Summer Theatre’s production of “Annie,” directed by Antoinette DiPietropolo.
"Everything in this class comes straight out of the classic musical "Annie." The music, the scene work, the choreography students learn are from the show they'll be auditioning for," said Executive Artistic Director Chuck Ethridge.
DiPetropolo performed in the national tour of “Annie,” where she also served as dance captain, associate director and associate choreographer. She later choreographed “Annie” at The Muny in St. Louis and directed and choreographed it at the John W. Engeman Theater on Long Island. Local audiences know her from her work at Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre.
"Antoinette knows this show from the inside, and our students will benefit from that,” Ethridge said. “We want every girl who takes this class to walk into her audition prepared and confident."
The intensive is not required to audition for “Annie,” but audition slots will be filled from the class first. Auditions will open to the public only if slots remain, and if the show is cast from the class, there will be no open auditions.
Each participant receives a T-shirt, headshot, course binder, sheet music, script and performance reel. Students are expected to practice outside of class, and parents are encouraged to help with memorization. Enrollment is limited to 15 students. Tuition costs $299.
