Judith Arlene Sauer

Judith Arlene Sauer, 85 of Libby passed away on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, in the Libby Care Center of natural causes. 

She was born Dec. 20, 1940, in Eureka, Montana. Her parents were Sam and Velta McAllister. Judy attended Libby Public Schools.

In 1957, Judy met the love of her life John Sauer and they married in June of 1958. Judy and John would go on to raise a family of three in Libby, Montana.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband John; parents Sam and Velta McAllister; sisters, June and Evelyn; and grandson Ryan Sauer.

Judy is survived by her children; John of Bozeman, Montana, Scott (Allison) of Riverton, Utah, Sally of Libby, Montana; grandson Nick (Heather) Sauer of Gaston, South Carolina; great-grandsons Ben, Luke and Hudson Sauer of Gaston, South Carolina; and sister Carol of Libby, Montana.

One of the things Judy loved most was being a grandmother to her grandsons Ryan and Nick and great-grandson Ben, Luke, and Hudson.

Judy had numerous hobbies that she loved to do, quilting, gardening, bowling and going to lunch with friends. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with grandsons Ryan and Nick.

Judy you will be dearly missed by everyone who knew you.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 15, at Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Libby, Montana. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Libby Food Pantry or American Cancer Society and would be greatly appreciated.
