The Libby volleyball team picked up a straight-set victory over Browning before running into a tough Whitefish squad three days later, splitting a pair of Northwestern A Conference matches.
The Loggers opened the stretch Friday, Oct. 3, with a 25-23, 25-17, 25-18 home victory over Browning.
Libby had to work for the opening set, holding off the Indians by two points before gaining separation over the final two frames to complete the sweep.
Junior Alyssa Andersen led the Libby attack with nine kills on 18 attempts, hitting .333 in the victory.
Freshman Madison Foss was particularly efficient at the net, finishing with six kills on eight attacks without an error for a .750 hitting percentage. She also provided three solo blocks.
Senior Leah Rusdal added six kills, while Rylee Delmas and Maddie Willis each finished with four. Bentley Houston chipped in two kills.
Libby also created pressure from the service line, recording nine aces as a team.
Freshman Charlotte Sherbo, senior Danika Allen and Houston each had two aces. Andersen, Delmas and Willis added one apiece.
Sherbo finished with a team-high 12 service points, while Willis added 10.
Defensively, senior Tessa Purdy led the Loggers with 10 digs. Delmas and Allen each collected eight digs, Sherbo had seven and Andersen finished with five.
Willis added a solo block, while Delmas and Rusdal each contributed a block assist.
Libby was unable to carry the momentum into Monday's road match against Whitefish, however.
The Bulldogs defeated the Loggers 25-8, 27-29, 25-9, 25-10 to take the match in four sets.
Libby is now 3-12-2 on the season.

The Loggers are at Blocktober in Butte Friday and Saturday.
