OTHELLO — An Othello man was booked for possible DUI after he led Adams County Sheriff’s deputies on a chase down West Bench Road and SR 26 Oct 7.
Pedro Cruz-Sanchez, 28, also was booked for reckless driving and attempting to elude law enforcement, said Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner in a media release.
The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m., after a witness reported a pickup near South Reynolds Road and West Hampton Road swerving across both traffic lanes with its hazard lights activated, Wanger said. Deputies located the pickup on South Reynolds Road and tried to stop it.
“The driver failed to yield to emergency lights and instead continued driving, turning west onto West Bench Road,” Wagner said. “During the pursuit, the Chevrolet reached speeds exceeding 100 mph while continuing to swerve across the roadway.”
The driver fled down SR 26, with deputies conducting a felony traffic stop in the 600 block of South Saddle Road, about a mile west of Othello.
