Trump will touch down in Flathead Valley for campaign rally Wednesday

President Donald Trump will arrive in the Flathead Valley on Wednesday as part of a last-minute tour aimed at securing GOP wins in the upcoming midterm elections.
Officials have remained close-lipped about the details surrounding the event, even as links to an online ticket portal began to circulate over the weekend. According to the site, the rally will kick off at the Majestic Valley Arena north of Kalispell at 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 14, with Trump slated to make an appearance at 6:15 p.m.
Trump's visit to the Flathead Valley comes about halfway through a 32-day campaign tour, which has already seen the president touch down in 14 states. The string of rallies has provided a forum for Trump to expound on his policies and stump for candidates who align with his brand of Republicanism.
Wednesday's rally is likely to include some shout-outs to Aaron Flint, the Republican candidate for Montana's western congressional district. The Army veteran and radio host launched his campaign in March with an endorsement from Trump and clear linkages to many of the president's longtime political allies, including outgoing U.S. Rep. Ryan Zinke, who lives in Whitefish.
A member of Flint's campaign staff said they could not provide details about the planned content of the rally, but that Flint would be attending.
"Bring em out bring em out! Let’s show em how it’s done Flathead," Flint posted to X on Monday along with a video of Trump dancing at campaign rallies.
Trump garnered considerable support in Montana during the 2024 presidential election, earning 58.4% of the final vote. In Flathead County, 65.6% of votes went to Trump.
Polls suggest the president's popularity has fallen in the lead-up to the 2026 midterms, as gas prices and the cost of living continue to rise. A Wall Street Journal poll showed Trump's presidential approval at 37% in late September. As of Oct. 1, about 26% of U.S. adults approved of the president's handling of the economy, down from 40% in March 2025, according to polling conducted by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.
Tensions within the national GOP have led many political strategists to project an increasingly tight race between Flint and Democratic candidate Sam Forstag for Montana House District 1. In September, the Cook Political Report dropped its rating for the district from "likely Republican" to "lean Republican," marking western Montana as one of the most competitive House races in the country.
