Columbia Falls Wildcat Girls soccer defeated Thompson Falls/Plains last Tuesday, 8-0.

Onnikka Lawrence had a hat trick. Riley Byrd (Lawrence), June Johnston (Piper Holm), Bailey Elder (Annika Peterson), and Raymond (Noely Fisher) would also place one between the posts as well.

Columbia Falls would out-shoot Thompson Falls /Plains 27–1.

“The Thompson Falls / Plains program is becoming something really special.  They are working hard to establish a soccer culture down there and it is really cool to see.  They honored our seniors on their senior night, and that meant a lot to our program after losing our senior night,” coach Thomas Clark said.

“On the field, our team played some of the best soccer they’ve played all season, which is the goal heading into the playoffs.  We moved the ball really well and had a lot of success in the final third.”

Clark had kudos for his seniors.

“On Thursday night, we were able to celebrate our seniors and their families in our senior send off celebration.  This group of seniors will go down as the most decorated class in our program history.  They helped elevate our program to a state championship appearance as freshman and helped us win the whole thing last year.  I can’t wait to see what they do in the playoffs this year,” he said.

The Cats’ next challenge is Hamilton in the first round in Hamilton on Saturday.  Columbia Falls defeated the Broncs 7-1 in back in August.

“Hamilton is a good team.  They are a consistent conference champion, and they have some dangerous players. We will be working hard in preparation this week and by the time we step on the field on Saturday, we will be ready to battle,” said Thomas.
