Flathead Valley commuters should expect road closures and traffic delays during President Donald Trump's campaign stop in Kalispell on Wednesday evening.

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office advised residents that closures are expected on portions of U.S. 93 and U.S. 2 to accommodate the event at Majestic Valley Arena north of Kalispell.

Trump is expected to arrive and depart from Glacier Park International Airport and is scheduled to speak at 6:15 p.m., according to the ticketing website.

"Sections of Highway 93 will be closed to motor vehicle traffic during the event," the Sheriff's Office said in a social media post late Tuesday. "Surrounding roads and side streets may also experience temporary closures or traffic restrictions. Signage will be posted in areas where road closures are anticipated."

People attending the campaign rally will not be able to access Majestic Valley Arena from U.S. 93. Instead, traffic will enter the site from Church Drive.

Venue doors will open to ticket holders at 2:45 p.m., and designated event parking will open at noon, according to the Sheriff's Office. People will not be allowed to wait along U.S. 93 or on surrounding roads before parking opens.

Due to limited parking, people are encouraged to carpool.

"Plan accordingly, as vehicles will not be permitted to exit the venue's parking area once they have entered," the Sheriff's Office said. "There are no provisions for vehicles to turn around or exit the parking facility before the event concludes.
