On Oct. 9, 2026, Ann Jean Hoagland passed away peacefully at age 94, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Butte, she was the heart of her family: a devoted mother, GMa, GGMa, sister, aunt, “AnnieAnn” and cherished friend.

Ann approached every day with grace and an incredible spirit. She radiated positivity and found much pleasure and humor in simple things: blue skies, crosswords, a good book, a challenging jigsaw puzzle, watching birds and squirrels at her birdfeeders, cooking for family and friends, Thursday lunch, painting, spontaneous adventures, hurkle durkling, Notre Dame, Friday bridge, FaceTiming with her great-grandchildren, boomerangs, and unexpected visitors. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Ann loved her family above all. She will be profoundly missed by her children, Vicki, Terri (Mark), Scott (Debra), Tim, and Bill (Donna), her grandchildren Jon (Brooke), Brooke, Dennis (Brooke), Kevin, Colton and Wyatt, her great-grandchildren Calvin, Tyler, Skylar, Ella, and Tatum, her brothers Pat (Gayle), Mike and Dan (Jeanie), numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a wide circle of friends who loved her dearly.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Mathias Aden (Pete) Hoagland, her daughter, Jami, grandchildren Jack and Rachael, her parents, Floyd and Edna Reardon, and her sister, Beverly Connors.

Ann’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, kindness, resilience, and laughter. We find comfort in knowing her spirit will continue to inspire us, and we will honor her memory by living lives filled with the same joy she brought to us.

Join us in celebrating her life at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 at Risen Christ Catholic Church. Lunch reception to follow the service.

To honor her legacy, please take a moment to perform an unexpected act of kindness or make a stranger smile. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Immanuel Living or Enhabit Home Health and Hospice.
