Jill Bethem Hannah Halfnights Goodrich passed away on Oct. 13, 2026, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. She was 83 years old.

Jill was born in 1943 in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada, to Charles Francis Boyd Halfnights and Elizabeth Henry Hannah. She grew up in British Columbia and graduated from Williams Lake Junior-Senior High School in 1962.

Jill married Merle Armstrong and moved from British Columbia to Washington state to make her home. Together, they raised their three sons: Robert, Michael and Kelly Armstrong. Robert was born in Spokane, while Michael and Kelly were born in Moses Lake, which became Jill’s home for many decades. While her boys were in school, Jill spent many years working with and selling Mary Kay cosmetics.

On Oct. 8, 1988, Jill married Huck Goodrich. They shared a love of designing, planning, and building homes, working together on several houses over the years. Their projects often took them on long trips to find distinctive building materials and special features that would make each home unique. Creating their homes was a shared passion, reflecting their creativity and attention to detail.

When Cheyenne was very young, Jill and Huck worked to bring her into their home. Jill became her guardian and raised her, sharing in the joys and experiences of watching her grow up.

Jill also loved gardening, plants and sewing. Her houseplants remained a constant part of her home throughout the years, even when she had less time for outdoor gardening. Sewing was another longtime interest, and she often wished for more time to set up her sewing room and return to a craft she enjoyed.

Faith was an important part of Jill’s life. She was a devoted and active member of Moses Lake First Presbyterian Church. One of her special joys was having her grandchildren stay with her for a week when they were young so they could attend Vacation Bible School. These visits gave her treasured time with them while sharing the church and faith that meant so much to her.

Jill was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Farrell and Dean Halfnights. She is survived by her three sons Robert, Michael and Kelly Armstrong; Cheyenne, whom Jill raised; Huck’s children Brian, Keith, and Stacey Goodrich; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Halfnights, who shared a close relationship with Jill.

Jill will be remembered for her devotion to family and faith, her love of plants and sewing, and the care and creativity she brought to the homes she helped build. Her life spanned two countries and many decades of family memories, and she leaves behind a legacy carried forward through the generations who loved her.

Jill will be laid to rest beside Huck at Ephrata Cemetery.

A viewing will be held Monday, Oct. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Kayser's Chapel of Memories, Moses Lake. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. at Moses Lake First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Eric Frey officiating. A reception will follow at the church.
