LEWISTON — Fresh off an upset of Lakeland, the Sandpoint Bulldogs struggled to find points in a three-set loss (17-25,10-25,15-25) to Lewiston on Thursday night.

Sandpoint was led by senior Marlee Lane, who totaled six kills, and Hailey Gion, who added a team-high 12 digs and two aces. Carlee Klippel, Ali Gunter and Brooklyn Lacy had one block each against the Golden Bengals. Sophomore setter Averi Mire had 12 assists.

“Rough night,” Sandpoint head coach Karen Alsager said. “Disappointing after such a great Tuesday match."

The loss closes out the regular season for the Bulldogs, who finish 8-10-1. Sandpoint will begin the 5A Inland Empire District Tournament on Saturday with a road rematch against Lewiston at 3 p.m.
