Students and families who receive special education services are invited to the Coeur d’Alene School District’s Community Resources Fair from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in Venture Academy’s gymnasium and commons.

“The goal is to help students and families realize the resources that are available as they transition into adulthood,” said Brody Beecher, a special education consulting teacher for Coeur d’Alene schools.

The free, open-house event is primarily geared toward high school students approaching adulthood who will soon age out of youth services.

Students and their families will have the opportunity to meet with organizations offering services related to employment, mental health, transportation, housing, health care, postsecondary education and transition planning.

Organizations scheduled to attend include the Disability Action Center, Citylink, Goodwill and the North Idaho College Workforce Training Center.

Free pizza and prizes will be available.
