Whitefish Pilot | UPDATED 4 days, 4 hours AGO
Wheels of Harmony brings the power of music, storytelling, and cultural expression directly into the Whitefish community for a free concert on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Stack Recital Hall. The show is presented by Amazing Place Music and North Valley Music School.
Wheels of Harmony is designed to introduce audiences to Indigenous music and culture while creating opportunities for meaningful conversation about Montana’s Tribal Nations and the diverse histories and experiences that shape our communities. The program also encourages young people to see music and performance as possibilities for their own lives.
Opera Montana offers soprano Kate Morton, tenor/sopranist Garrett Abel, and pianist/composer J. Cruise Berry for a unique program that celebrates Indigenous voices alongside the rich traditions of opera and musical theatre.
The artists will present a diverse selection of music featuring traditional Indigenous music, classical opera and musical theatre and modern works by Indigenous composers. Through these selections, audiences will experience how music can carry stories, preserve cultural traditions and create connections across communities.
For this performance, audiences can look forward to powerful voices, engaging storytelling, and a program that moves between musical traditions and styles. Whether you are new to opera, a longtime music lover, or simply curious to hear something new, Wheels of Harmony offers an opportunity to experience music that is both deeply rooted in tradition and connected to the present.
The performance is free with donations requested. For reservations, go to northvalleymusicschool.org.
