Our dear friend, Jim “Himy” Lee Andersen, age 74, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away Oct. 13, 2026. He will now reunite with his beautiful wife, Karla Yvonne Andersen, together with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Himy had a full life, sharing it with his most better half, Karla; his trusty brother-in-law, Kurt; and a young man he chose to call his own, Matthew. As well as many friends he surrounded himself with.

Jim’s profession of trucking and heavy equipment operation took him around this great country and over to Afghanistan to help our troops as a civilian. He had that amazing ability to talk about anything and fill a good friend’s head with a lot of useless knowledge, at least that is how he would describe it. He loved cars, fishing, hunting, firearms, the barbecue and being a homebody. He humbled himself by doing a lot with little and not needing a whole lot, as long as he had his best friend Lucy, his faithful dog.

Jim’s last thoughts were with his brother from another mother, Kurt, stating he was “satisfied with his life and that he had a good run.” I will miss my friend “Himy." You put years into many great friendships, and we have to concede — all great things sometimes end.

A memorial service for Jim will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2026, at Yates Funeral Home — Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. 4th St., Coeur d’Alene. Please visit Jim’s online guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
