Marvin Duane Cook passed away peacefully Monday, October 19, 2026, at Kootenai Health.
He was born August 24, 1941, to Bud and Bonnie Cook. He was the second of seven children. He grew up at McArthur Lake and developed a love for horses young in life.
He worked in the logging and construction industry throughout his life, many years alongside his son, Shawn Cook, and son-in-law, Toby Wall. His greatest joy was creek fishing and roaming the countryside, trading horses and socializing the local taverns.
He loved his family and appreciated his friends who came to visit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Bonnie Cook; siblings, Johnie Cook, Pat Ramsay and Lois Steen; daughter, Tracy Cook; and nephew, Jason Cook. He is survived by siblings, Bonnie McEwan, Emily Owens and Dale Cook; son, Shawn Cook; daughters, Tammy Wall and Jody Hendrickson; grandchildren, Logan Cook, Haley Potack, Traci Wall, Tanner Wall, Morgan Cullen and Hannah Jelinek; and multiple great-grandchildren.
