The 1976 revenge Western, "Winds of Autumn," comes to the big screen for Movie Night at the Museum Oct. 27.

The independent movie, co-written and directed by Charles B. Pierce, was shot in Kalispell and Glacier National Park.

“Winds of Autumn” centers on the story of 11-year-old Joel Rigney (Chuck Pierce Jr.). Joel, who lives in a small Quaker enclave in Montana, is nothing special. That is, until his family is taken from him and brutally murdered by a dangerous roaming outlaw gang.

Driven by an unwavering sense of justice, where it’s eye for an eye and a life for a life, Joel sets off alone into the wild frontier, determined to get even while encountering peril after peril along the way.

Admission and popcorn are free. Soda, water, beer and wine will be available for purchase. Seating is provided, but people are welcome to bring their own.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m. in the Swanberg Classroom at the Northwest Montana History Museum, 124 Second Ave. E., Kalispell. Host and educator Jacob Thomas will provide opening remarks.
