As voters prepare to cast their ballots in the 2026 General Election, the Bonners Ferry Herald asked candidates to share why they are running, what they see as the biggest challenges facing their communities, and what they would work to accomplish if elected.

Below are the questions submitted to each candidate, followed by their responses.

1. If elected, what will be your major initiatives in your first 100 days in office?

2. What are the three most significant issues facing the office for which you are running? Why are they the most significant? (Please be specific/)

3. What are your solutions to those issues? (Again, please be specific.)

4. What specific steps would you support to manage population growth responsibly while preserving local quality of life?

5. What issue is not being given enough exposure in your race? What is it and why is it important?

6. How do you plan to involve the community in your decision-making with your respective race?

7. Have you ever changed your mind on an issue? If so, why did you change your stance?

8. What role should county and state officials play in providing property tax relief, and how would you balance that with the need to fund local infrastructure and public services?

9. Give voters your best pitch: Why should they choose you?
