David De Trolio, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on Sept. 15, 2026. Born on Nov. 27, 1961, in Moses Lake, Wash., David was the son of Frank De Trolio and the late Audrey Ginter. His mother Audrey, grandparents, nephew Cody De Trolio, and several uncles and aunts preceded him. David shared a close bond with his family, including his father, Frank, and stepmother, Charlene. He was a devoted brother to Buck, Michael, Frank Jr., Eric and sister Shelley.
Right out of high school, David enlisted in the military and was in the National Guard Reserve from 1980 to 1993. He was very proud of his service. David worked in local industries as an operator and technician. For over 25 years, David dedicated himself to his work at REC, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment. His colleagues remember him as “Detro,” a reliable and kind-hearted presence, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.
Outside of work, David found joy in the tranquility of nature. He was an avid fisherman, spent time at the shooting range and took great pride in cultivating his garden and yard. At family gatherings, you could always count on “Uncle Dave” showing up with Klondike Bars, a family favorite.
A memorial of David's life will be held Oct. 28, 2026, at the Huck Fuller Building at the Grant County Fairgrounds from 3 to 6 p.m. The family invites all who knew him to join in celebrating the remarkable life he led. David's life was a testament to the power of kindness, dedication and love.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting David's generous spirit and his lifelong commitment to helping others.
