Judith Margaret Ehlert

June 7, 1942 – Oct. 19, 2026

Judith Margaret Ehlert, 84, passed away on Oct. 19, 2026, following a courageous 35-year battle with cancer.

There really are no words big enough to describe Judith. She was one of the strongest people her family ever knew. She wanted to live more than anyone they had ever known and had an incredible zest for life. Even after 35 years of cancer, she never stopped wanting another day with the people she loved.

Judith was a homemaker during the first 18 years of her adult life, dedicating herself to raising her family. She was one of the kindest and most giving people you could ever meet. If someone needed help, she was there.

She was an exceptionally talented and well-known historical artist of Northwest Idaho, capturing the history and beauty of the area through her artwork. She was also a real estate agent in Sandpoint for 20 years, where she built lasting relationships and became a valued part of the community.

Judith was incredibly intelligent, curious and always learning. She had a brilliant mind and could have been a doctor if she had chosen that path. She was deeply interested in holistic and homeopathic approaches to health and healing and followed what she believed in with tremendous passion.

Above all, Judith was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Her family meant everything to her, and the love she gave them will stay with them forever.

She is survived by her brother, Vancil Sanderson of Reno, Nevada; her son, Dennis Huddleston and his wife, Marilou, of Worley, Idaho; and her daughter, Cheri Graham and her husband, Dan, of Worley, Idaho.

She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Amanda, Anna, Danielle, Haley, and Nicole, and her great-grandchildren, Trinity, Bella, Theodore, Palmer, and Sen.

The family hopes to someday place a memorial bench for Judith overlooking Lake Pend Oreille in Sandpoint, Idaho, creating a peaceful place where her family and friends can sit beside the water and remember the extraordinary woman she was.

Judith fought for every day she was given. She loved deeply, gave generously, created beauty, and never stopped wanting to live.

We love you, Mother. We will miss you every day, and we will carry you with us for the rest of our lives.

A celebration of life for Judith will be held in Sandpoint, Idaho, the weekend of Thanksgiving, most likely Saturday. Further details will be shared as they become available. For additional information, please call 760-408-9210.

The family would like to thank everyone who loved, supported, and cared for Judith throughout her life.
