North Idaho College will host a community listening session from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in the Student Union Building Lake Coeur d’Alene Room to gather public input on the college’s campus master plan.

The session is an opportunity for community members to help shape the college’s campus master plan during the early stages of its development. The plan will guide future campus improvements and help NIC align its facilities and spaces with the needs of students, educational programs and the community.

“People have strong connections to NIC, whether they studied here, attend events or enjoy spending time on campus,” NIC President Nick Swayne said. “We want to hear what makes this place special to them and what they hope to see in its future.”

RDG Planning & Design, the firm assisting NIC with the planning process, will gather feedback on classrooms, outdoor spaces, parking, campus access and other needs. Participants are encouraged to share what they value about campus, what could be improved and what may be missing.

Feedback will help identify priorities and inform a long-term vision for NIC’s campus with the planning process scheduled to continue through February 2027.

“We’re asking people to help us imagine what’s possible for NIC,” Swayne said. “Their ideas will help us develop a plan that reflects the college’s mission and the needs of the community we serve.”

Community members can share their ideas through the online campus master plan website at engagerdg.com/north-idaho-college-campus-master-plan.
