The man who allegedly damaged more than 20 vehicles during an overnight vandalism spree in Kalispell last year later received a partially suspended sentence.
Brian Del Werner, 54, of Kalispell pleaded no contest to one count of criminal endangerment in Flathead County District Court after striking a plea deal in late December 2025. Prosecutors initially brought him up on felony counts of criminal endangerment and criminal mischief following the vandalism spree, which began on Sept. 7, 2025, and continued overnight.
Under the terms of the deal, prosecutors agreed to recommend that he pay restitution and receive eight years in the state Department of Corrections with four years suspended. They also agreed to dismiss the criminal mischief charge.
Judge Amy Eddy stuck to the deal at Werner's April 2 sentencing and gave him credit for 184 days of time served.
Along with slashing tires, Werner fired a gun several times during the overnight spree, according to court documents and police statements. Authorities caught up to him in Portland, Oregon, more than a week later.
