Idaho kicker Owen Forsman was named Big Sky Special Teams Player of the Week, as well as Stats Perform FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week, after kicking three field goals in three tries, including a 53-yarder on the final play, to beat Southern Utah 31-28 on Saturday at the P1FCU Kibbie Dome in Moscow.
Forsman, from Lakeland High, has attempted at least one field goal in six games this season, being perfect in four of those. Saturday’s action was also his second flawless outing in which he attempted three or more kicks. Forsman, listed as a junior, won the kicking competition in fall camp after showing out in spot duty in 2025, where he went 4 for 4 on field goals with a long of 49 and made all nine of his PATs.
This season, other than a blustery outing at Weber State plagued by a pair of weather delays where he missed all three of his field-goal tries, Forsman has hit 11 of 12 (91%) field goals and all 24 PATs.
Idaho plays Portland State on Saturday in Hillsboro, Ore.
