NOV NIBJ: The IMPACT of women coming together
MARILEE WALLACE / NIA Women of Impact | Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 3 hours, 40 minutes AGO
Since 2021, one of my greatest joys through NIA Women of IMPACT has been watching what happens when women come together to learn, connect and grow.
Our Women of IMPACT Leadership Roundtable is a five-month community leadership experience built around the word IMPACTED: Inspiration and Icebreakers, Mentorship, Participation in Nonprofits, Arts, Commerce, Technology, Education and Diversity.
Each month, we explore topics that help women better understand the community where they live and work, while introducing them to the people and organizations making a difference throughout North Idaho.
Our philosophy is simple: LOCAL speakers. LOCAL topics. LOCAL impact.
We invite extraordinary women — community leaders, business owners, educators, artists and professionals who are experts in their fields — to share their knowledge, experiences and personal journeys.
Here's an idea of just some of the remarkable women who have shared their stories and expertise over the years — and believe me, this is the short list!
Stefany Bales, Rose Bucks, Elaine Damschen, Linda Davis, Dr. Mary Everett, Andrea Fulks, Gynii Gilliam, Debbie Heiser, Vicki Isakson, Heather Keen, Eve Knudtsen, Jeanette Laster, Dr. Sarah Lynch, Melissa Luck, Judy Meyer, Dena Naccarato, Colonel Angela O'Connell, Raydene Owens, Laura Penney, Christina Petit, Dr. Gina Prindle, Britta Provost, Cyndi Rai, Michelle Rene, Louisa Rogers, Jennifer Smock, Patty Shea, Melissa Steach, Kerri Thoresen, Britt Towery, Marie Widmyer, Blair Williams, Amy Voeller, Sandy Young and Tarie Zimmerman.
We're equally excited about the outstanding lineup of local women being assembled for 2027!
But something else happens during those five months — something just as meaningful as the presentations themselves.
Friendships form. Connections deepen. A community develops.
Women who begin as strangers become friends, colleagues and supporters. They exchange ideas, share resources, celebrate accomplishments and discover new ways to become involved in their community.
Every year, each class develops its own identity and takes ownership of its year. Whether someone participated in 2022, 2024 or 2026, there is a special sense of belonging that continues long after the final gathering.
Since 2021, that network has continued to grow, connecting women across industries, generations and experiences.
Leadership isn't always about standing at the front of the room. Sometimes it begins by pulling up a chair, joining a conversation and getting to know the woman sitting beside you.
NIA Women of IMPACT Leadership Roundtable is a five-month series beginning in January 2027. Join us to learn from local leaders, discover more about our community and build meaningful relationships with extraordinary women. Registration is OPEN! Secure your place at https://nia.ticketgoat.com.
Five months. Local leadership. Real community IMPACT.
