Whitefish's ski swap is coming up on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the WAVE. The annual thrift sale is the sole fundraiser for Big Mountain Ski Club.
Register your used skiing and winter gear and apparel at myconsignmentsale.com/bmsc and drop off items at the WAVE on Friday, Nov. 6 from 1-7 p.m.
The public sale is Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. All items that are not sold must be picked up on Saturday between 3-5 p.m.
The consignment rate is 80% to the consigner, 20% to Big Mountain Ski Club.
Big Mountain Ski Club started in 1972 and offers free and affordable ski lessons to children ages 5-12 at Whitefish Mountain Resort. The club brings third to sixth grade students to the mountain each year, and it has a family program that teaches affordable, volunteer-led lessons on Friday nights and Saturday mornings.
Board member Bria Pfimmer has been involved with the club for 20 years and said that the growing sizes of classes in Whitefish have made things a bit more challenging in recent years.
"But it is worth it because you get kids up that would otherwise never see the top of a mountain," Pfimmer said. "They should have the chance to fall in love with skiing."
