BOZEMAN — Montana State opens the 2027 football season with a conference game against long-time rival Idaho State, the first of five league home games, the Big Sky Conference announced in releasing next year’s schedule on Wednesday.

The 2027 season marks the first time the Bobcats open against a league rival since the inaugural game in Reno H. Sales Stadium in 1973, and the first time ever hosting a Big Sky game in Bozeman to begin a season.

The Cats host both of their longest-running out-of-state series, with ISU visiting on August 28 and Idaho arriving on October 30. Utah Tech also visits Bobcat Stadium as a league foe for the first time.

Kickoff times and game designations will be assigned in the spring and summer, along with the Cats’ Homecoming opponent. MSU’s game against North Dakota State as part of the 2027 Las Vegas Kickoff Classic could be anywhere from Nov. 2 to Nov. 4.
