KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Montana Tech of the Frontier Conference is ranked fourth and league rival College of Idaho is No. 2 in the first STADIONIC NAIA National Selection Committee poll released Tuesday.

The St. Thomas (Fla.) Bobcats, who are 8-0, are ranked No. 1; College of Idaho is 7-0, and has handed Tech (7-1) its only loss this season. Benedictine (Kan.) is ranked No. 3. Carroll College is ranked 12th.

The poll, along with the Area Rating Committee standings, help determine the NAIA’s 16-team playoff field.

College of Idaho, Montana Tech and Carroll College are ranked 1-3 in the ARC West, with Rocky Mountain College at No. 6. More info can be found at naia.org.

Taco Belles 35th at Rebelle Rally

The Taco Belles, the tandem of Hannah Pennington from Columbia Falls and Veronica Kelly of Salt Lake City, finished 35th out of 45 4x4 teams at the Rebelle Rally that took all-female off-road teams from Las Vegas into California.

The rally, which began on Oct. 10 and ended on Oct. 17, ended with the Taco Belles — their name fudged to Taco Rebelles in the results — scoring 947 out of a possible 1,686 points. The Utah Raptors won with 1,533 points.

Pennington and Kelly were rookies for the race, which combines driving skill with precise navigation using the traditional tools of maps, compasses and roadbooks.  Results can be found at www.rebellerally.com.

Another ace for Brezsnyak

WHITEFISH — David Bresnyak used a 7-iron from the blue tees to score a hole-in-one on No. 6 of the North Course at Whitefish Lake Golf Club Thursday.
