The Noxon Red Devils live to play another day.
The Red Devils defeated the visiting Heart Butte Warriors 61-26 in Noxon Friday to complete regular season Montana 6-Man football play and clinch a playoff berth. Coach Lucas MacArthur’s Red Devils now play at West Yellowstone Saturday at 1 p.m.in the first round of the State 6-Man playoffs.
MacArthur said that the win over Heart Butte was a feel-good affair for his young team, saying that the players worked with each other to make sure everyone got in on the fun.
“Nine of our ten players ended up scoring touchdowns,” MacArthur said. “And the one that didn’t, Caleb Mullet made sure everyone else did. It was a good game for us, a fun one to end the regular season.”
The Devils will enter the game in West Yellowstone as the underdogs and MacArthur is aware of that. “We want to use this as a way to gain valuable experience,” he said. “As something to build on.”
Zane Brown, Vance Brown, Kaden Walrath, Michael Kair, Landon Buckner, Wyatt Buckner, Nathaniel Collins, Walker Frevert and Brogan Anderson were the Red Devil gridders who reached the end zone against Heart Butte.
