State plans for safety measures along Montana 200
Clark Fork Valley Press | Valley Press-Mineral Independent | UPDATED 4 days, 11 hours AGO
The Montana Department of Transportation is taking public comment on a proposal that will install curve warning signs, radar activated flashers and delineation on about 7 miles of Montana 200 northwest of Thompson Falls.
The project begins at Faro Lane, and extends south, ending near Gebhardt Lane.
Proposed work includes installing curve warning signs with radar activated flashers, adding chevrons in curve sections, improving delineation and clearing select vegetation. The purpose of the project is to improve safety in the curves between Guy Hall Road and Little Beaver Creek Road.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2029 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
