GeorgeAnn Folk, 95
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 hour, 32 minutes AGO
GeorgeAnn was born in Wallace, Idaho, in 1931, to Bill and Ruth Coker and enjoyed a wonderful farm life, being raised in Kingston, Idaho, by her loving parents on 130 acres. At Kingston High School, she met her high school sweetheart, Earl Folk. They were married for 61 years and lived an adventurous life. They lived in Moscow, Idaho, while Earl attended the University of Idaho and worked hard to fulfill their goals while having fun doing it.
After graduation, they lived in Spokane, Wash.; Los Angeles, Calif.; and Atlanta, Ga. They spent two exciting years in Paris, France, and traveled through Europe while Earl served as an auditor in the U.S. Army. While living in Los Angeles, GeorgeAnn took interior design classes, millinery courses to design hats, and many cooking classes. She was a wonderful homemaker, loved to entertain, set fancy tables, and serve home-cooked meals. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was incredibly proud of her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Randy Folk and Greg Folk; granddaughters Mia Folk and Roslyn Fletcher; great-grandchildren Kaylee and Cameron Fletcher; her loving sister, Robyn Bencich (who checked on her twice a day) and husband Mike; niece Linda Backlund; Renee Lusby, a caring friend; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Folk; parents Bill and Ruth Coker; sister Carlene Leonard, and her husband, Harry; brother Bill Coker; brothers-in-law Jim Finlay and Eric Folk; and in-laws Einar and Ester Folk.
She felt blessed by God's love, her husband, family, and friends. GeorgeAnn lived her last 13 years at the Garden Plaza in Post Falls.
At GeorgeAnn's request, no celebration of life will be held; in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the 3Cs, a local Kootenai County nonprofit GeorgeAnn passionately supported for many years. www.3cscda.com.
