Earlier this month, St. Ignatius Introduction to Business students planned and ran a breast cancer awareness fundraiser, raising $2,100 for the St. Luke Community Healthcare Foundation.

Teacher Chris Kelley explained that the students did a Pink Out shirt sale and accepted donations during sports events this fall. The students did everything from designing the shirts to spreading the word.

“I was really proud of the students,” Kelly stated in an email. “It was neat to see them realize that something they put together in class could actually help people in our community.”

Kelley noted that throughout the fundraiser, students applied several business functions, including graphic design, marketing, social media promotions and distribution.

“Our goal was to support individuals and families in our own community, which is why the students chose the St. Luke Community Healthcare Foundation as the recipient of the fundraiser,” he stated.
