Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Carol Bottinelli passed away peacefully at home in Deer Park, Wash., on Oct. 13, 2026. Carol was born in Kranzburg, S.D., on July 21, 1935. Her family later moved to Kellogg, Idaho, where she grew up and made many lifelong friends. After graduating from high school in 1953, she worked as an assistant for Billy Hope Photography studio and then as a bookkeeper at Weber Bank from 1954-1959.

In 1956, Carol married Charles (Chuck) Bottinelli. Their family grew when they welcomed the arrival of daughter Carina in 1959 and Colette in 1962. Their 63-year marriage was full of love and support for their family and communities.

Carol was very involved in helping St. Rita’s Catholic Church and school in Kellogg. And when her family moved to Lewiston, Idaho, in 1966, she resumed her commitment to volunteering as she spent countless hours on church and school fundraisers for St. Stanislaus parish.

In 1972, her family relocated to Deer Park, Wash. The years that followed were busy and rewarding as she was involved in her daughters’ activities. She and Chuck were dedicated supporters of the band and drill team, helping with fundraising, cheering at performances, and traveling to parades and competitions.

Also involved in her church and community, Carol’s acts of kindness and charity continued as she was instrumental in forming the first food bank in Deer Park.

Carol loved music and would often be heard singing throughout the house. She was a big fan of Andrea Bocelli and was thrilled when she and Chuck saw him in concert in 1999. She also enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and traveling. She treasured the trips she and Chuck took with their friends, including memorable pilgrimages to Italy and the Holy Land with their church.

Carol was the fourth of six children and was always close with her siblings throughout her life. Family get-togethers in Kellogg and on the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River were some of her happiest memories.

Carol will forever be cherished for her big heart and sense of humor. We will all miss her laughter. She is survived by her brother, Jack Turbak, two daughters, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Presentation Catholic Church, 602 E. 6th St. in Deer Park. The funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. at the same location. A reception will follow the service at the church hall.
