Gabrielle Huguenin, 49
Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 1 hour, 40 minutes AGO
It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the passing of our beloved Gabrielle Marie Marguerite Huguenin. She passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, at her home in Sandpoint, Idaho, at the young age of 49.
Gabby was so much to so many. She was a loving, devoted mother who always put her family first. She was also a cherished daughter, a charismatic sister, an out-of-this-world pianist, a wonderful friend, the fun auntie and a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved children, Leila Mouttaqi Huguenin (25) and Ali Mouttaqi (19); their father, Mohammed Mouttaqi; her partner, Kevin Coulter; her parents, Bobbie Huguenin and Pierre Huguenin; and her siblings, Daniele Huguenin (Carlo), Joelle Traynor (John), Nicole Huguenin, Suzanne Huguenin, and Jean-Pierre Huguenin (Amy). She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews, Jean-Luc Albertson and Maddie Albertson, Dario Pati, Julia Traynor, Ava Huguenin, and Isabella Haynes, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends around the world. From France, Morocco, and Italy to Montana, Florida California, and beyond, Gabby built a circle of friendship that knew no borders.
Gabrielle was born to Bobbie and Pierre on Jan. 23, 1977, in Spokane, Wash. She graduated from Lake Pend Oreille High School in 1994, but the school of life was much more her style. Gabby didn’t just march to the beat of her own drum — she had her own entire band.
Gabby loved the natural world. Some of her happiest childhood memories were made exploring the outdoors at Kootenai Point. She loved the woods and beautiful places throughout North Idaho, including Char Falls, Green Bay and Trestle Creek among others.
A self-taught entrepreneur, Gabby developed an impressive knowledge of finances and tax law, eventually building her business, Legacy Wealth Building with her partner Timothy McGilberry, CPA.
Gabby offered a kind of love that could reach people when they needed it most. She had a remarkable ability to lift others up, even while carrying her own burdens. She may not always have known how to heal her own heart, but she gave so much of hers to help heal the hearts of others. Her resilience was evident every time a new health challenge came her way. Even though she endured great pain, she faced hardships with courage, meeting life on her own terms, again and again. She tried everything to heal herself of late onset epilepsy.
Private family services have been held.
