Ronald passed away, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, accomplishments, and love for his family.

Ron was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to Gerald and Eva Jones. He later moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where he graduated from high school and attended Cal Poly, earning an engineering degree.

After college, Ron began working at National Cable and Wire, where he met the love of his life, Janice. They married in 1961 and began to build a life and family together.

In 1986, Ron, Janice, and their three children moved to Idaho, where they purchased Kelso Lake Resort. Ron spent many years raising and training racehorses. He also worked at Coeur d’Alene and Playfair race tracks as a pari-mutuel employee. Along the way, Ron started his own tax preparation business, which became a lifelong career.

In 1983, Ron and Jenna sold the resort and moved to Hayden, Idaho. Sadly, Ron later lost Janice to cancer, a loss that changed his life forever.

Some of Ron’s most treasured memories were spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed coaching his grandson in basketball for several years and the excitement of winning handicapping contests with his dad.

Ron later found someone to share his life again and married Carolyn. He continued building his tax preparation business while partnering with his daughter in 1988. Together, they carried on the business until Ron retired after an incredible 50 years in the tax preparation profession.

Ron is survived by his brother, three children, two stepchildren, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Ron will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of horses and racing, and the many years devoted to work and the people he loved

Ron‘s wishes were a celebration of life, which will be held on Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. at his daughter‘s house. For directions, call Linda at 208-772-9113.
