Hawks boys soccer plays Corvallis, Polson

Thompson Falls-Plains-St. Regis boys soccer coach Michael Scharfe can see the improvement in his team from one day to the next.
Opening season play in a tournament at Polson, the Hawks played Corvallis Friday, falling 4-0, and host Polson Saturday, falling 2-0. Scharfe was impressed by what he saw from his young charges in Polson.
“Despite the losses I feel our boys played very, very well and improved between Friday and Saturday,” Scharfe said. “Polson were state champs and they beat us last year 6-0, so we are even seeing improvement from last year.”
Scharfe thinks his Hawks are a team on the rise. “We’re looking to get to work this week on improving some things that we need to work on such as crashing the box and passing accuracy, but overall, I am very encouraged by these boys,” he said. “They’re playing well together. They’re improving and I’m excited for what’s to come.”
The Hawk boys are scheduled to play a JV game at Whitefish Wednesday in their only scheduled action of the week.
