Range Riders’ win streak ends via KO

OGDEN, Utah — The Ogden Raptors pushed across the tying run in the eighth, then won the Knockout Round to beat Glacier in Pioneer League baseball Wednesday, ending the Range Riders’ 12-game winning streak.
Carson Garner’s 14th home run of the season, a two-run shot in the fifth inning, had put Glacier (50-41 overall, 21-23 this half) in front 5-4. Garner also had an RBI single in the first inning.
Giuseppe Ferrero-Nahr tied the game in the eighth for the Raptors (48-43, 20-24): He was hit by a pitch to lead off, took second and third on wild pitches and scored on Garrett Bevacqua’s one-out single.
After a scoreless ninth inning, Ogden’s Colson Lawrence won the home run derby-style tie breaker over Glacier’s Jake Millan 1-0.
Ricky Tibbett, Jacob Hasty and Alex Bustamante combined for 5 1/3 innings of solid relief; Tibbett took over for Chris Canada in the fourth and pitched into the eighth.
The teams continue their series Thursday; the PBL’s regular season ends Sunday.
