Any day is a great day if you make it to the championship.

Coach Kim Lakko and her Plains Trotters played their way into the championship match before falling to Anaconda in the Mission Tournament Saturday.

“It was a full day of volleyball which always makes for a great day especially when you make it to the championship,” Lakko said. “As a coaching team we utilized the tournament to see many different combinations and implement different strategies. The girls did a great job with the adjustments.”

Lakko is thinking the Trotters could end up meeting the Copperheads again somewhere down the road and thinks her girls will be better prepared next time.

“I hope this makes the girls look forward to meeting Anaconda again come divisional time where we are both solidified in lineups and at our best,” she said. “It was a full team effort- bench to floor (in Mission). As a coach, I see so much good and potential in all these players.”

The Trotters were set to play Loyola in Missoula Tuesday but results of that match were not available.
