Eddie Gordon Davis, 56

Eddie Gordon Davis, 56, passed away Aug. 30, 2026, as a result of a tragic dirt bike accident.

On Dec. 30, 1969, Eddie was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Roll and Fran Davis. He was a hometown boy raised on Hayden Avenue. After graduating from Cd'A High School in 1988, Eddie attended Montana Tech, where he earned his bachelor's degree in business.

Even when his hat was hung up, his mind was always still hard at work. Eddie had a notable career in the construction, heavy equipment, and aggregate industries. Out of college, he was hired as a superintendent for Washington Construction on a rebuilding project at Mount St. Helens. From there, he spent time at Western States CAT in Meridian as Vice President of Sales, relocating to North Idaho to work with Musselman Rental & Sales in 2007. A new door opened in 2015 when Basin Resources, an aggregates joint venture, was founded with Eddie at the helm. With partners Jeff Nearing and Joe Zanetti, the trio has grown operations to nine rock pits with trucking. 

In the late '90s, on a flight back to Boise after one Christmas home in Hayden, Eddie laid eyes on the cutest blonde in cowboy boots. In 1999, they eloped to Reno and celebrated 27 years of marriage this year. In June 2005, Eddie and Carrie started their family when their twin boys, Ty and Cody, were born. They both desired to raise the boys in North Idaho, closer to grandparents and cousins, and moved to property off — you guessed it — Hayden Avenue. 

Eddie was passionate about 4-H and the character it built in young children. Seizing the opportunity to serve as a mentor to youth in the barn, he engaged in youth livestock shows at the North Idaho State Fair and across the Pacific Northwest. He helped start our local Kootenai Classic Livestock Show and traveled with his kids and others as far as California, Arizona, and Colorado to compete. In true Eddie fashion, he pushed for stronger support for our local livestock kids by developing the Livestock Sale Booster Club, raising funds at an annual fundraiser showcasing kids and their animals. 

Eddie is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carrie. His twin sons, Ty and Cody. His mother, Fran Davis; sisters Rhonda (Bill) Schelin and Toni (Bob) Allen; and many nieces and nephews. Eddie is preceded in death by his father, Roll Davis; grandparents Walther and Lorraine Tipke; and Gordon and Addie Davis.

The great ambitions of his life were to raise his sons to think for themselves and serve others. In his recent years, he found his heart increasingly invigorated by Jesus Christ and His gospel. You could find him leading a prayer for hundreds of people at a livestock auction, serving the members of North Star Baptist Church, and encouraging men to confide in each other at his monthly Wild Courage meetings. Eddie valued relationships with the Lord, his wife, his sons, their family, and their friends. 

A celebration of life will be held Friday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. at the Hagadone Event Center.
