Polson Police Foundation opens office, wellness center

The Polson Police Foundation has opened a new office and First Responder Wellness Center at Lake City Baptist Church, 219 First St. E. in Polson.

The shared facility will provide space for foundation operations, first responder wellness services, a decompression room, professional training, cybersecurity classes, youth programs, public-safety outreach and meetings with local partners.

“This space gives the Polson Police Foundation an opportunity to expand the support we provide to local first responders and the community,” said foundation president Brady Phenicie in a press release.

He expressed gratitude to the church and noted that the move is an important first step “toward our long-term goal of establishing a permanent First Responder Wellness Center and training facility.” He said the new center will offer “a quiet and supportive environment” where police officers and other first responders can decompress from the demands of their work.

Pastor Jeremy Lee said several active and retired first responders attend the church, and that the partnership “is a meaningful opportunity to support those who faithfully serve and protect our community.”

According to Phenicie, the Polson Police Foundation will continue pursuing donations, grants and community partnerships to establish a permanent First Responder Wellness Center and training facility. He encourages those interested in supporting the project to donate, volunteer, attend an educational event or become a community partner.
