Bonners Ferry 0, Stillwater Christian 0

BONNERS FERRY — A defensive battle between Bonners Ferry and Stillwater Christian ended in a stalemate on Friday for both teams’ first draw of the season. 

The Badgers’ head coach Matt Solis lauded his team’s defense, which would not allow a goal the rest of the week and has only allowed one on the season. Stillwater Christian is 5-0 outside of this matchup, with a +17 goal differential, making this a quality performance for Bonners Ferry early in the season. 

“We’ll see Stillwater again later this season, and we’re looking forward to finding our stride offensively,” Solis said. 

Bonners Ferry is set to face Stillwater Christian again on October 10 in Bonners Ferry at 12 p.m. 

Bonners Ferry 2, Grangeville 0

GRANGEVILLE — The Badgers shrugged off the long bus ride to Grangeville and got back in the win column behind two second-half goals from Miles Oxford on Saturday. 

Solis said the team was a little slow in the first half, but that stellar defense kept them in it. The Badgers opened up the scoring thanks to senior Riley Beggarly, who pushed the ball down the field and fired a cross to Aaron Tadlock, which Tadlock used to find Oxford for a goal. 

It didn’t take long for Oxford to find the back of the net again, sending the ball past the Grangeville goalkeeper five minutes later. With the victory, Bonners Ferry improved to 2-1-1 in 2026. 

“The wind picked up and made things difficult, but the boys battled through and held on for the 2-0 victory,” Solis said. “Another shutout for our defense!” 

Bonners Ferry 8, Priest River 0

BONNERS FERRY — It didn’t take long for the Bonners Ferry offense to find their footing against Priest River on Saturday, scoring eight goals against the Spartans. 

The Badgers were led by two seniors; Riley Beggarly scored a hat trick while Aaron Tadlock added two goals and an assist. Sophomore Miles Oxford once again notched a brace, scoring two more goals against Priest River, while senior Trevor Festini added a goal. 

“This week taught us a lot, and we’re still working on finding our groove,” Solis said. “I’m extremely proud of the boys for continuing to fight, compete, and push through every game. We have a little break before our next games, so we’ll use that time to work on some things, get better and keep building.” 

Bonners Ferry boys don’t play again until Sept. 10 when they head down to Lakeland for a game at 5 p.m. 

GIRLS

Sandpoint 10, Bonners Ferry 1

SANDPOINT — A penalty kick goal from Marley Pauls was the lone score for Bonners Ferry as they fell to the 5A Sandpoint Bulldogs on Thursday night. 

The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and never looked back, maintaining offensive pressure throughout the game. The Badgers battled throughout the game, creating a few quality chances, but couldn’t keep up with Sandpoint’s offense in the loss, which dropped them to 1-2 on the season. 

"It was a great learning experience for us and showed us some areas to continue focusing on," Badgers head coach Emily Winebark said of the game. 

Grangeville 2, Bonners Ferry 0

GRANGEVILLE — In another showdown with a Bulldogs team, the Bonners Ferry Badgers couldn’t find the back of the net on Friday and fell to 1-3 in the season.  

No other stats were provided for this game. 

Bonners Ferry 7, Priest River 3

BONNERS FERRY — The Badgers found their winning ways, cruising past Priest River in a Monday afternoon showdown.  

Bonners Ferry scored all seven of their goals in the first half with senior DeNoalious Hiatt, junior Lil Therrien, junior Avah Archibald, junior Lillian Wright and sophomore Abigail VanGesen all scoring a goal for the Badgers.  

Bonners Ferry improved to 2-3 with the victory, setting up a chance to get back to an even record against Kellogg on Tuesday. 

Bonners Ferry 4, Kellogg 1

KELLOGG — Two goals each from sophomore Abigail VanGesen and junior Mayzie Humas, Bonners Ferry bested Kellogg on Tuesday afternoon. 

The Badgers got off to a blazing fast start, scoring three goals in the first half. While the Wildcats battled back with a score of their own, Bonners Ferry scored in the second half to seal the victory and move to 3-3 in the season. 

Bonners Ferry gets a long break before they play their next game against Orofino at home at 1 p.m.
