Kellogg 3, Bonners Ferry 0 

BONNERS FERRY — A slow start doomed the Bonners Ferry High Badgers volleyball team in the three sets (25-8, 25-15, 25-14) against Kellogg last Wednesday night. 

Senior Taren Bateman led Bonners Ferry with six kills and two blocks. She was supported by senior Eva Willis with three and sophomore Hana Hanson with two. Sophomore Jaycee Bateman totaled a team-high 11 assists. 

The loss to the Wildcats was the first of the Badgers’ season, dropping them to a 2-1 record. 

Bonners Ferry 3, Stillwater Christian 0 

BONNERS FERRY — The Badgers bounced back with a strong victory over the visiting Stillwater Christian Cougars in three sets (25-20, 25-15, 25-15) last Friday. 

Once again, Taren Bateman was the star for the Badgers. Bateman led the way with 10 kills, a .409 hitting percentage, one block and 14 digs. Junior Samantha Cummings also tied for a team-high 14 digs and senior Eva Willis contributed seven kills. 

Bonners Ferry had a great day serving, with fellow senior Aspen Graham racking up five aces and sophomore Jaycee Bateman serving up four. As a team, the Badgers totaled 17 aces against the Cougars. The Badgers moved to 3-1 with the victory. 

Sandpoint 3, Bonners Ferry 0 

BONNERS FERRY — Another impressive game from Bateman and Willis wasn’t enough for the Badgers to beat the visiting Sandpoint Bulldogs, as they fell in three sets (25-15, 29-27, 25-23) on Saturday afternoon. 

Bonners Ferry was led by seniors Bateman and Willis, who combined for 18 kills. Bateman served up four aces, six digs and two blocks against the Bulldogs. Samantha Cummings led the Badgers with eight digs. Sophomore Jaycee Bateman racked up 24 assists as Bonners Ferry fell to 3-2. 

 Priest River 3, Badgers 1 

BONNERS FERRY — Despite taking the first set, Bonners Ferry was unable to beat Priest River for the second time this season on Tuesday night. 

The Badgers narrowly lost in four sets (25-17, 18-25, 20-25, 23-25) to fall to 3-3 on the season. No other stats were available at the time of publishing.
