Aubree Lane, Lewis and Clark Volleyball 

After two seasons starring at Spokane Falls Community College, Lane transferred to NAIA Lewis and Clark State College and is already picking up right where she left off. The 2024 Sandpoint High graduate led the Warriors with 15 kills in the team’s opening victory against Williams Baptist of Arkansas.  

In the six games that Lewis and Clark have played, Lane has seen playing time in all of them, helping the Warriors jump out to a 6-0 start. The 5-foot-9 junior has totaled 25 kills on a .267 hitting percentage, 11 digs, and one block through the early season. 

Matyus McLain, Washington State Football 

While Washington State football is electing against releasing a depth chart ahead of its season opener against rival Washington, all signs point to former Priest River Lamanna High star McLain starting for the Cougars on Sunday. McLain made the starting lineup at the edge rusher position in the Spokesman-Review's projected depth chart and is fresh off an offseason of honors. 

The 6-foot-4 junior will wear #9 for Washington State on defense in the Week 1 Apple Cup. Kickoff for the rivalry game is set for 1 p.m. PT and will be available to watch nationwide on NBC. 

Jerzie Bair, Bushnell Volleyball 

The Bonners Ferry High School graduate has made her way to Eugene, Ore., and the NAIA Bushnell University Beacons after one year at North Idaho College and two years at the College of Idaho. Bair has become a staple of the Beacons’ starting lineup, playing over three sets in all but one of Bushnell’s games so far. 

The 6-foot-2 senior set a new season high on Saturday with nine kills and a team-high five blocks against Columbia International University. Across the Beacons’ seven games, Bair has racked up 40 kills, averaging 5.7 per game, 24 blocks, 12 digs and three set assists.
