Medalist Brown leads Whitefish girls to own Invite title

WHITEFISH — A pair of medalists, Karlee Brown and Mason O’Neil, led the Whitefish Bulldogs to first and second at their own Whitefish Invitational golf tournament on Wednesday.

Brown led a 1-2-4-6 finish by the Bulldog girls with a 1-under 70 at Whitefish Lake Golf Course. That included a 31, with an eagle on the par-5 No. 12, on the back nine. 

Jillian Wagner was second at 78 for Whitefish, with Ryhlee Scott fourth and Baylee Hyland sixth. The Bulldogs had 325 strokes to 378 for Corvallis. 

Corvallis won the boys team title by three strokes over Whitefish, despite O’Neill shooting a 71 to tie Ronan’s Oliver Rowe for best round. 

The Bulldogs also had Zack Schmid-Sommer and Kaleb Stevens finished amid the top seven golfers, but the Blue Devils went lower with Tanner Sorensen (third, 72) leading a 3-4-9-12 Corvallis finish.  

Corvallis had 302 strokes, Whitefish 305 and Ronan 322. A close fourth was Columbia Falls (322), which had Dylan Owens, Tristan Victor and Bentley Cady in the top 15.
