OTHELLO — Two Florida men were booked on charges relating to an alleged attempt to run from Adams County Sheriff’s deputies after a pursuit Thursday afternoon.

Fedly Alfred, 18, was booked on suspicion of attempting to elude a law enforcement officer and hit and run with property damage. Kenny Facyson, 26, was booked on suspicion of obstructing law enforcement.

The two men were charged in connection with an incident near West Bench Road and SR 24, said Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner in a media release early Friday morning. Deputies attempted to stop a driver for a possible DUI.

“The driver chose not to stop and led deputies on a pursuit, traveling eastbound on Highway 26 from Bench Road and reaching speeds in excess of 110 miles per hour,” Wagner said. “The pursuit continued from Highway 26 on to Highway 395 northbound.”

Deputies put out some spike strips near Paha Packard Road; the driver of the fleeing vehicle tried to avoid them and drove into the median.

“Both the driver and the passenger exited the Honda Ridgeline and attempted to flee on foot, with deputies close behind,” Wagner said.

One man was taken into custody near the scene.

“Within minutes, Adams County Dispatch advised deputies that a local resident had encountered the second fleeing suspect and was holding the individual at gunpoint while awaiting law enforcement,” Wagner said. “Deputies responded and took the second suspect into custody without further incident.”

The suspects’ truck was impounded pending application for a search warrant.

Wagner commended the ACSO deputies and dispatch officers, the citizen who encountered the suspect and thanked Washington State Patrol troopers for their assistance.

“From the initial pursuit and coordination on the roadway to the apprehension and booking of both suspects, everyone worked together to get the job done,” Wagner said.
