Bulldogs block late PAT to defeat Hamilton

HAMILTON – Luke Dalen threw for 158 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another score and Whitefish beat Hamilton 29-28 in non-conference Class A football Friday night.
The back-and-forth battle saw Hamilton rally from a 13-0 deficit to lead 15-13 and then score a touchdown with 16 seconds left to trail 29-28.
Hamilton initially converted a go-ahead 2-point conversion with a run to the left side, but a penalty backed them up 10 yards. The Bulldogs’ Leo Bungener then blocked the ensuing PAT kick to preserve the win.
Dalen was 9 of 16 passing and also had 17 carries for 91 yards. Vlad Shestak had four catches for 92 yards, including two touchdowns.
Cooper Weston was 19 for 41 passing for Hamilton with 167 yards and two rushing scores.
Jude Widmer also found paydirt twice on the ground for the Broncs, who rushed for 220 yards as a team.
