HJR 4: Vote no in November

Regardless of your political views or personal stance on marijuana and psychoactive substances, please be aware of what House Joint Resolution 4 (HJR 4) means for our state.

HJR 4 will appear on the November ballot. A “YES” vote amends the Idaho Constitution to give the Legislature exclusive authority to legalize marijuana, narcotics or other psychoactive substances, permanently removing citizens’ ability to address these subjects through the constitutional initiative process we have held since 1912. A “NO” vote preserves the citizens’ right to propose and vote on initiatives regarding these matters.

Regardless of whether you support or oppose legalization, the core issue is preserving citizen representation and democratic choice. Idahoans should retain the right to organize, qualify initiatives and let the voters decide on key issues rather than surrendering that power to the Legislature.

Please research HJR 4 before you vote on November 3, 2026 and consider who should decide what Idahoans are allowed to vote on.

Vote NO on HJR 4 this November.
