Law roundup: E-bikers allegedly gang up on golfers

A group of six were allegedly speeding up and down a hill on electric bicycles at Lawrence Park and yelling at golfers at a nearby golf course. A man called the Kalsipell Police Department, wanting them removed. However, he “wished not to get involved.” 

A highly intoxicated man wearing a blue sleeveless shirt and tan pants allegedly hit another person with a baseball bat.

At least four chickens flew the coop and were reportedly roaming around a woman’s yard. Officers advised her to check around the neighborhood to find the owners.

A resident alleged that illegal dumping was happening in the alley behind their home and told officers they had recorded video of the incident. 

A Ford Explorer was allegedly tailing and brake-checking a vehicle whose driver believed was intentionally trying to hit the horse trailer she was pulling.

A bearded man with long shaggy hair was allegedly hitting a woman. Another woman called the police to report the alleged assault, telling them her boyfriend was going to try to defuse the situation.

A metallic gray Toyota 4Runner reportedly parked in a handicapped spot at a grocery store despite not having the proper placard or license plate designation, ignoring a sign that stated a $100 fine would be assessed for the violation.

A blue Nissan Titan truck reportedly wasn’t maintaining its lane and almost got into two head-on wrecks and hit a curb. Montana Highway Patrol stopped the truck on U.S. 2 and reportedly requested a drug recognition expert but was told that the county and police department don’t have one.

Someone asked officers to check on the welfare of an elderly man using a walker or cane, thinking he was confused when he allegedly started crossing the road but turned back at the halfway mark. Then, they thought he looked like he was going to walk diagonally through the intersection.

A man calling from Columbia Falls reportedly found a wallet containing fake money. He was told to turn it in to the Columbia Falls Police.
