College of Idaho 63, Rocky Mountain 13: At Caldwell, Rylie Byington ran for 127 yards and five touchdowns to power the Yotes (2-0) past the Battlin’ Bears (0-2) in front of 3,306 at Simplot Stadium.
Wayne Queen, a Lake City High product and Idaho transfer, had six tackles for Rocky Mountain. Taycen Genatone, a Post Falls High product, had three tackles for Rocky Mountain.
Montana Tech 24, Carroll 14: At Butte, Mont., Jarrett Wilson threw for 130 yards and ran for a touchdown in the first half for the Orediggers (2-0) in a nonconference win over the Saints (1-1) in front of 4,697 at Alumni Coliseum.
Kolbe Coey, formerly of Coeur d’Alene High, had 12 tackles and a pass breakup for Carroll.
