School is about to be in session.

To help increase visibility and remind motorists that children are returning to their respective classrooms, members of Coeur d’Alene Fire will be stationed at or near seven elementary schools within the City of Coeur d'Alene on Tuesday.

Their duty begins 45 minutes before school start times.

“Motorists are asked to use caution on roadways and in neighborhoods, and to anticipate children walking to and from school each day,” according to a CDA Fire press release. “Fire Department emergency vehicles will have their emergency lights on to alert drivers in the area.”

In addition to raising awareness, Fire Department personnel will help children cross busy street intersections.
