Patricia Hanson

Patricia Hanson passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026, at Cascadia Nursing Home of Libby.

Patricia was born Nov. 14, 1948, in Seminole, Oklahoma to Francis and Willene Cody. Patricia joined three older brothers, Chuck, Ray and Don. A few years later, Patricia’s little sister and best friend Barbara were born.

In the early 1950s, the family made the move to Troy, Montana. Patricia attended Troy schools from kindergarten to high school, graduating in 1966.

After graduation, Patricia moved to Kalispell to work. While there, she met Harland Hanson. The two were married in 1969. They had three children together. Kori and identical twins, Heather and Holly. The couple divorced in 1979 and Patricia moved her small family to Everett, Washington. It was there that Patricia’s last daughter, Zara was born, completing the family unit of five fierce females.

Patricia and her children moved back to Troy in 1986 to be closer to family.

Patricia loved architecture, art and traveling. She was fortunate enough to see Europe, taking in its history passionately. She had a soft spot for all animals and made sure that her daughters knew the love of dogs and cats.

Patricia was an avid reader, with books and magazines always prevalent in her home. She carried herself with grace and poise even in difficult times. She was soft-spoken and kind, often encouraging her children to “kill them with kindness.”

She spent the last few months in the care of the incredible staff at Cascadia of Libby. The family extends their most sincere gratitude to the workers there that took such good care of Patricia. They truly went above and beyond.

Patricia is survived by her children Kori Erickson of Libby, Heather Hanson of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Zara Cody of Billings, Montana, and her sister and best friend, Barbara Daniel (John) of Troy. She is also survived by grandchildren Rain, Forrest, Annika, Kaden, Marley, Elly, Jude and Khalil, plus one great-granddaughter, Hazel. Several cousins, nieces and nephews of Patricia also survive her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, all three brothers, and her daughter, Holly. Patricia found comfort in her faith and knew they would be waiting for her.

She will be greatly missed, but the family finds peace knowing she is no longer in pain.
