45th annual Pend Oreille Cup returns this weekend

PONDERAY — The 45th annual Pend Oreille Cup, the massive youth soccer tournament hosted by the Sandpoint Strikers, returns to the region this weekend.

The U8 through U14 tournament will play across seven different locations starting on Friday night and continuing through Sunday afternoon. Games will take place at:  

• The Field of Dreams (100 Oneida Dr.) 

• War Memorial Field (801 Ontario St.) 

• Pine Street Athletic Field (1605 Pine St.) 

• Travers Park (2016 Pine St.)  

• Centennial Park (400 N Lincoln Ave.) 

• Great Northern Fields (601 N Lincoln Ave.) 

• Farmin Stidwell Elementary Fields (1626 Spruce St.)  

Teams from all over Idaho, Washington and Montana have signed up to compete in the tournament, including the Sandpoint Strikers and local club Albion SC Idaho North. RV and dry camping are available at the Sandpoint High School parking lot, with a cost of $20 for the whole weekend.
